League Rules

Regular Season

Far blue line icing is in effect.

Overtime in the regular season will consist of sudden death 5 minutes of 3-on-3 action followed by a three shooter per team shootout.

Playoff Format

All four teams make the playoffs.

Playoffs will re-seed each round, and the highest seed will face the lowest seed in each round.

Overtime in the playoffs will consist of continuous sudden death 5-on-5 action until a winner is decided.

Playoff Seeding

1st tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record.

2nd tiebreaker will be goals for in the head-to-head matchup.

3rd tiebreaker will be team goals for the regular season.

4th tiebreaker will be a coin flip.

Adding Substitute Players

The following rules are to maintain the integrity of the regular season results.

Each team must ice at least 6 rostered players before adding any subs to qualify for a win that week.
When adding substitute players, a team can only add up to 8 players.
If a team doesn't ice a minimum of 6 rostered players, that team forfeits the game, and the game may be played out with as many substitutes as needed.
Substitute players are to be added at the discretion of both captains in a game.

The goal is for everyone to leave the rink in one piece and no worse for the wear.

- The GHL is a no-check league. The expectation is just that there is inherent physicality in the game of hockey, but stay within the boundaries of safe play and don't put your fellow players in harm's way over a men’s league game.
- All players are expected to treat the referees with respect
- A player who receives 3 penalties in a single game will be ejected from that game and suspended for 1 game
- If any player is involved in a physical altercation with another player, the result will be a 3-game suspension for the 1st offense and dismissal from the league for a 2nd offense
